The Neurodevelopmental Laboratory located at McLean Hospital, in Belmont, MA, is recruiting 14-17 year-old teenagers to investigate the beneficial effects of yoga for improving well-being and treating symptoms of depression and anxiety. During this time of the COVID-19 quarantine, our yoga study is being offered from a virtual platform, twice weekly live zoom classes for 8 consecutive weeks. Teens will complete assessments once before, at 4 weeks, and 8 weeks after completion of the yoga regimen, as well as twice weekly completion of yoga homework. When quarantine is lifted, there may be an opportunity for participants who completed the yoga study to complete an MRI brain scan, if eligible.

Your child may be eligible to participate in virtual yoga if they are:

  • 14-17 years old
  • Interested in yoga classes and available to complete an 8 week regimen (yoga classes, homework and surveys)

Yoga classes are provided at no cost, and participants receive a FitBit Alta HR and $100 for completing the study, if they are deemed eligible for study participation and complete the entire study.
